Anthropocentric vs Ecocentric- exploring shifts and challenges in our mahi

This panel was part of the Beyond Academic track at the 2022 International Participatory Design Conference, Auckland Co-Design Lab Co-Director Tangata Tiriti – Penny Hagen, joined with Jan-Christophe Zoels, Head of the MA design programs at the University Lucerne, School of Art and Design, Switzerland, Marion Lean, Co-Design Coach (Future Farming) Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs, UK and Daria Loi (Chair of this session), Vice President and Head of UX at Fishtail to explore how practitioners tackle complex problems, emphasizing how they recover from mistakes, missteps and mishaps - both big and small. For us at the Auckland Co-design Lab that has included shifting from a focus on co-design methods, process and tools, to exploring Te Tiriti-led practice and tackling foundations of what is needed to enable equity and Te Tiriti based practice in the public sector.
