Niho Taniwha
Introduction
Niho Taniwha is a place-based learning framework that supports whānau, community and public sector partners to experiment, learn and implement both local and system-wide changes to better address complex socio-economic issues.
In this section you will be introduced to Niho Taniwha as a place-based and systems learning framework. It starts by acknowledging the tohu or pattern of the Niho Taniwha, and the Mātauranga Māori that enabled the development of this framework. More detail on the purpose of the framework is then provided, followed by an introduction of its key elements, including Te Whāriki and Wāhi Ako.
This resources in this section also include examples of how Niho Taniwha has been applied in different public sector settings. A set of baseline practices shows when Niho Taniwha is likely to be most appropriate, and encourages authentic practice of the Niho Taniwha framework.
