Place-based Approaches: Activating the Ecosystem

Place-based approaches offer a way to connect central policy and investment with the local expertise and lived realities of whānau and hapori.

In this session, Dr Ingrid Burkett (The Good Shift, Australia) introduces different place approaches that have been applied in Australia. She then explores the value of an ecosystems approach that moves beyond service integration. This way of working sees place not just as a location, but as a living system with existing knowledge and know-how.

Rachel Smith (Ngāpuhi), Lead Strategic Innovator for Healthy Families Far North, shares her reflections within the context of Aotearoa.
