Niho Taniwha is a framework designed to bridge the gap between ‘on-the-ground’ learning with whānau and hapori, and the systems that influence investment and decision-making.
This case study shares how Te Waka Kerewai, the Māori Outcomes Delivery Unit within Auckland Council's Community Wellbeing department used Niho Taniwha as a learning framework as part of He Kupenga Horopounamu, their flagship kaupapa that aspires to transform Auckland libraries’ practice and service design to achieve better outcomes for hapori and whānau Māori.
